Workshop Information
QAA-recognised Access to HE Qualifications - 2008 sees the introduction of the new QAA-recognised Access to HE Diploma which represents one of the biggest changes to Access provision in over quarter of a century. This workshop is an opportunity to learn more about the new qualification, how OCNW has implemented it and raise any questions and queries about its delivery in Centres.
OCNW & Teaching and Learning Support qualifications for the Lifelong Learning Sector - Practitioners will know that these new qualifications have been developed from common units of assessment developed by LLUK. However it is OCNW's assessment methodology which differentiates our suite of qualifications from other awarding bodies. Find out more about OCNW's integrated and holistic approach to assessment by attending this workshop.
Delivering the Foundation Learning Strategy - The academic year 2008/2009 marks the beginning of the Foundation Learning Tier Progression Pathway trials. This workshop looks at what the roll out of the progression pathways will mean for centres and how the OCNW offer can be used to meet the aims of this new strategy.
Taking Forward Functional Skills - As one of only two awarding bodies to be piloting Functional Skills for all subject at all levels OCNW has a wealth of experience in operating these new qualifications. At the mid point in the pilot this is a chance to reflect on the lessons that have been learnt so far and to set out the direction of travel for the second phase of the pilot.
Broadening horizons: ESOL and OCNW - In the past 18 months there have been considerable changes to the OCNW ESOL provision with the addition of several new flagship qualifications. This is an opportunity to receive an update on this programme of work and the new products OCNW has on offer for ESOL tutors.
Systems and Procedures - This workshop will cover the systems and procedures relating to awarding body and centre administration for a range of provision. It will provide an opportunity for you to ask questions particularly relevant to your own areas of responsibility.
Funding for the Future - This workshop will be led by Edward Drake of Drake Lane Associates who is an acknowledged expert in LSC funding. In this workshop you will receive an update on the latest developments in this area which will enable you to better understand the funding issues affecting your own organisation.
