English Assessments
This page contains the sample English assessments to download. The reading and writing assessments are those submitted to Ofqual in February 2010. The final assessments will be uploaded on the website as soon as Ofqual accreditation is received, but are likely to vary significantly.
The Speaking and Listening assessments are the live assessments to be used up until the end of the pilot. They will be replaced with the post September 2010 versions as soon as Ofqual accreditation has been received.

Speaking and Listening
This assessment specification contains the live asssessments for all assessment windows. Ascentis has provided structured tasks for each level which tutors may contextualise in line with the guidance provided. Speaking and Listening assessments can be carried out at any point throughout the year.
Assessors are asked to complete the assessment record for each candidate as well as the mark scheme/s. The assessment record should give a more descriptive account of the candidates individual performance against the Functional Skills standards as well as giving a description of the task.
