OCNW Languages for Travel and Leisure Qualifications
We are pleased to launch our new suite of Language qualifications that are available from Entry 2 through to Level 2. The qualifications are available in the following languages:
§ Arabic
§ French
§ German
§ Greek
§ Gujarati
§ Italian
§ Polish
§ Spanish
§ Urdu
All the qualifications are approved by the QCA and fully fundable by the LSC. At each level the full certificate has been divided into two separate awards: an Award in Speaking and Listening; and an Award in Reading and Writing allowing achievement to be spread across two terms.
The Entry 2 Certificate is designed to be a short taster course and is 30 guided learning hours long.
The Entry 3 Certificate is the first full year course and is 60 guided learning hours long.
The Level 1 Certificate is the equivalent to a GCSE grade D-G and is also 60 guided learning hours long
The Level 2 Certificate is the equivalent to a GCSE grade A*-C and is 90 guided learning hours long.
At all levels OCNW has designed assessment frameworks that tutors use to contextualise assessments to the needs of their learners. OCNW provides advise and guidance on how this can be done in the Contextualising Language Assessments booklet which is available free for tutors to download.
