CUSTOMISED AWARDS

These awards provide learners with a ladder of opportunities that can lead to Access programmes and into work, thus enhancing job prospects. The awards can be at a number of levels from Entry 1 through to level 4, and can often be short programmes. In most cases there is no examination and learners are required to produce evidence of learning through coursework or short classroom tasks. They are often written by highly experienced practitioners and are designed to respond to the specific accreditation needs of learners and organisations. A wide range of subject areas is encompassed from Art and Drama to Business Administration to Motor Vehicle Operations.

Organisations wishing to develop new or specific OCNW-accredited provision should contact the OCNW development team: development@ocnw.com or call the Qualifications Administrator, Ben Rockliffe on 01524 845046.

Customised Awards provision includes

  • Continuing Professional Development
  • Diversity Through Citizenship
  • Community Education Mentoring
  • Countryside Stewardship
  • Curriculum Enrichment Programme
  • Progression Units
Plus many more subjects – please see the OCNW list of Customised Awards.

How to register a learner

A centre must ensure it is registered as a full OCNW or approved member centre to deliver OCNW Customised Awards programmes prior to registration of learners.

For all subjects within Customised Awards programmes a learner must be registered with OCNW via the relevant Student Information Records Sheet (SIRS), this can be found in the procedural
documents section.  If you are unsure which SIRS to complete contact the OCNW Accreditation Team email accreditation@ocnw.com or telephone 01524 845046.

Learners must be registered with OCNW within 7 weeks of commencement of a programme.

Once the SIRS has been completed with centre, subject and learner details it must be returned to the OCNW Accreditation Unit.

Alternatively SIRS can be completed electronically and emailed to
accreditation@ocnw.com.
