GENERAL INTEREST

Students at a TableOCNW has a suite of qualifications available in Arts and Craft and European Languages that should appeal to learners studying for general interest, as additionality to other curriculum subjects or to lead towards employment or further training. They are all accredited by QCA to the National Qualification Framework.

These qualifications are designed for adults and young adults. The content of the qualifications and the assessment arrangements are designed to be appropriate to their target learners. Within the Craft and Design and Art qualifications assessment is through the building up of a portfolio of evidence. The language qualifications have broadly defined tasks that can be contextualised to the interests of the learners. This allows for assessment that can be integrated alongside normal teaching and learning.

General Interest provision includes

  • Art
  • Craft Skills
  • Craft & Design
  • Languages for Travel and Leisure
If you would like to view or download any of the above specifications please go to the General Interest Specifications page found in the documents section.

How to register a learner

A centre must ensure it is registered as a full OCNW or approved member centre to deliver OCNW General Interest programmes prior to registration of learners.

For all subjects within General Interest programmes a learner must be registered with OCNW via the relevant Student Information Records Sheet (SIRS), this can be found in the
documents section.  If you are unsure which SIRS to complete contact the OCNW Accreditation Team email accreditation@ocnw.com) or telephone 01524 845046.

Learners must be registered with OCNW within 7 weeks of commencement of a programme.

Once the SIRS has been completed with centre, subject and learner details it must be returned to the OCNW Accreditation Unit.

SIRS can also be completed electronically and emailed to
accreditation@ocnw.com
