| Target Group |
This qualification is aimed at adult learners who will be studying languages part-time or as part of a wider programme of study within a learning organisation. |
| Summary |
This qualification is aimed at adult learners who may wish to study languages for travel or leisure needs. It aims to provide the learner with a basic knowledge that will enable them to communicate with others within specific contexts on a straightforward, predictable level.
This qualification is currently available in: French, German, Greek, Italian and Spanish. |
| Assessment |
The unit is achieved through the successful completion of activities. OCNW has devised some sample activities that are provided within the specification. The context of the activities can be determined by the tutor according to the interests and needs of the learners. Alternatively tutors may devise their own activities which cover the assessment criteria. Tutor devised activities must be submitted to OCNW for approval prior to their use for assessment. A performance descriptor outlining the performance required of a learner competent at each level is provided within the appendices. The tutor will mark the evidence from the completion of the activities against the performance descriptor; the learner will need to successfully achieve all the pass statements given within the descriptor, in order to achieve the unit.
Evidence from the completion of the activities for each learner must be available for internal and external moderation. |
