The OCNW 2 Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life qualifications meet the requirements of the national standards for adult literacy together with coverage of the national core curriculum for ESOL. These qualifications are designed to address the language development needs of these groups of candidates and provide progression from the Entry Level ESOL Skills for Life Qualifications.
There are several features of these qualifications that make them very appropriate for both tutors and candidates:
Assessment dates determined by the centre not OCNW
User friendly mark schemes
Clear linkage between the ESOL core curriculum and the assessment tasks
The Speaking & Listening assessed through external assessment tasks, devised and provided by OCNW, and must be stored in centres under secure conditions. Assessors mark candidate assessments from the mark schemes provided. The assessments are then internally moderated within the centre, and externally moderated by OCNW.
