Target Group This qualification is aimed at young people aged 14+ and adults who have an interest in child care as an area of employment and want to develop practical skills in this area.
Summary

The OCNW Certificate in Child Care at Entry 2 and Entry 3 gives the learner an excellent introduction to the area of child care and will help them to make decisions about whether to undertake employment or further training in child care. It will give learners a good background to child care which is a practical and useful life skill. This qualification has been written considering the government’s ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda.

Assessment

All units are assessed internally through the build up of a portfolio of evidence. To gain a unit certificate all assessment criteria within the “What you need to do” section of the unit must be achieved. Internal and external moderation are a requirement for all units making up the full award.
